I’d be moving to a different home (online) soon I just registered for a new domain and hopefully I get to set up everything before the month ends. Will update you guys once my other site is up and running.

My host just switched to a new host and she sent me the necessary nameservers that I should update. I thought that’s all I need to do… Turns out I also need to move my files to the new server. So if you find that my site has gone offline, that’s probably because of the switch to a new server.

I’ll probably do the moving of files tomorrow or on Saturday evening. But for the meantime I have already exported a backup of my MySql database (all my posts and comments are now safe) except for this post haha! Since I’m already done exporting and downloaded the backup already *LOL*

Last Friday, my site was down. I found out about it as I tried to access my site the “Error establishing database connection” error showed up instead of my customized theme. My mood all throughout the day was sad because I wasn’t able to do a backup of my site (database, themes, plugins, posts & pages) I thought I’d be able to do a backup via MySQL but when I was at the MySQL control panel, I find out that the database is gone So I had nothing else left to do, I felt much more sad because of it. I didn’t know how I’d be able to get a hold of my database any more. Blog entries since August 2008 is gone forever.

Saturday came and I received a plurk message from my host. She told me that my site was back up, so I hurriedly searched for WordPress plugins that would help me back up my site. I found two plugins, downloaded and installed them and soon enough I have a backup of my site. Yay! Just in case my host decides to switch hosts then at least I don’t have to start from scratch in building my site.

In case you’re wondering, the plugins I installed are the following:

• Backup Content As Txt
• WordPress Backup (by BTE)

Note to self: Always do back ups. As much as possible do back ups weekly.

My first cousin Steph asked me to disseminate this online so that others might know and safeguard themselves from this modus operandi. The criminals involved had disguised themselves as police (hopefully, it was indeed just a disguise); even their van had police markings. They were armed with an armalite.

The crime was attempted just meters away from her house inside their village in Sucat, Muntinlupa. [Erratum: I first wrote "Parañaque" because from my understanding, their village straddles the boundary between the two cities. My mistake and not my cousin's. My apologies.] By God’s grace, she survived the ordeal.

Please pass on and spread the word; maybe members of the media can check on this, too. Understandably, my cousin was traumatized by the event and I admire her for gathering her wits together to share her ordeal with the public.

I finally was able to update WP That’s all for now *lol* I have this blog post I’d like to share but I wasn’t able to finish it. So maybe its just one of those spur of the moment entry that might not get published here on my blog haha!

Another work week has ended. I might be involved in an internal project, not billable but still at least I get to do something productive And this time I’ll be using/studying the .NET Framework! I’m so excited, I just hope it pushes through.

Had fun with my officemates last Tuesday and Thursday. We played badminton at the gym near our office. For only 70Php/person (2 hours). Hope we do this regularly. At least I get to exercise twice a week. I’m not that good though… needs more practice And I was still a bit shy last Tuesday because it was my first time to be/bond with most of them so I was still shy

I’m having problems with my blog. I always get an error when trying to create or edit a new page. Instead of redirecting me to a success page, it redirects me to an error page. But when I check, the page I was trying to create or edit was created/updated.

I’ve neglected my blog yet again. My domain (in-random.org) is expiring in two months time and I have no plans of renewing it since I really have not given much attention to it. I had plans for it but those plans did not materialize because of my lack of time and effort. Anyways, I have backed up my posts from in-random.org and hopefully I get a host for my orangebin.net. As you know, or if you haven’t noticed I just signed up for a free wordpress blog and “redirected” it to my domain name. I’d like to get a host so that I can install WordPress plugins and themes I’m still contemplating if I should buy for the web space or just search for a free but decent host.

Enough of the domain/site related talk, about two weeks ago I received my new cellphone. Its the Nokia E51 and I have yet to explore the phone. But so far, I love it. I’ve been eyeing to get one since late last year but I just couldn’t because it was still expensive for my budget. So when the opportunity to get the phone came, I grabbed it right away. I was able to purchase it for only 6,500Php because of my boyfriend’s rebate from his Globe postpaid plan. I’m super thankful to him for making me avail it instead of him.

Napabayaan ko na itong blog ko dito. I just received an email from my host dati and madami na syang tinerminate na sites dahil hindi na nila nauupdate yung sites nila. Wala naman ako dun sa list but nakatanggap ako ng email from her. Kahit nga yung parang on probation list wala din ako dun. Siguro alam naman na nya na hindi na ako nakikihost sa kanya dba? But I think I still need to inform her… Ewan ko din.

Anyways, meron akong new domain and I had it hosted kay Ate Val. Isetup ko na ng unti unti para naman makapagstart na ako ng blogs dun para din magamit na rin yun para maka-earn ng extra money
