From our family I am the only one who doesn’t have to wear any glasses. I often wonder why because I’m the one who is so addicted with the computer. I remember when I was still a child and we had a family computer. The first thing I do in the morning is to play Mario Brothers on our family computer. When we had our very own PC and internet connection, I would stay up late chatting with friends and still manage to wake up early to continue using the computer. Now that I’m working, I’m in front of the computer for 8+ hours. My office mates keep on reminding me that I shouldn’t wash my face because my eyes are tired from being in front of the computer but that doesn’t stop me. I still wash my face every after lunch so that I’d feel fresh again
Last January, we had our APE and my eyes were examined. And according to the doctor, although I have a 20/20 vision I have mild astigmatism. She recommended that I wear eyeglasses especially because of the demands of my job. I researched further on my condition and found out that astigmatism is a common condition and is usually present from birth. I then started searching for different kinds and styles of eyeglasses when I stumbled upon Eric’s Review of Zenni Optical. Zenni Optical has the lowest price progressive glasses which makes them the #1 online Rx glasses store in Brooklyn. The lowest prescription glasses that you can get from them costs 8USD that’s more or less 400PHP! They have so many kinds of glasses as well, so you’ll have tons and tons of eyeglasses to choose from! Here are just some of the glasses that I liked: Read more »
A letter for me came in the mail a week ago. I thought it was the Circle’s Buffet voucher that I’ve been waiting for the longest time but my excitement turned in to a disappointment because it was not the voucher but a statement from my life insurance. Ugh, another bill to pay. I always dread receiving bill statements, it reminds me of how much I should have saved if I didn’t purchase this or that. And then I start to think that ever since our company moved here at McKinley Hill the more I was not able to save. It makes me miss the days when our company was just based in Alabang, only 10-15 kilometers away from home. Gasoline for the car will cost 1,000Php and it will last for 2 weeks or more. But now 1,000Php will only last a week, add to that the toll fee every morning and afternoon and just recently McKinley Hill management decided to turn all free parking slots to a pay parking slot. I’m actually starting to think of canceling my insurance because I feel that I am not able to manage my money properly. If only I was able to review insurance leads properly and had given much thought before getting a life insurance then I wouldn’t feel as if I made a mistake in purchasing one. Canceling now will not benefit me at all since I’m just only on my first year. Anyways, I’d just think of it this way: Today I don’t have enough money but tomorrow I’d have enough and more
Last Wednesday, we had our Annual Physical Exam at work. It’s a requirement for the renewal of our HMO. Our HMO policy expires every February so we take our APE by January and Payroll also asks us if we would like to retain or add more dependents. My only dependent is my Mom since she’s the only one qualified. I wanted to have my sister as my dependent as well but unfortunately she’s older than 21 years old already. She’s the one who needs a health card because she’s the one who is always sick. Just last year she was confined at Asian Hospital since she had to undergo an operation to remove a lump near her throat. Good thing the operation went well and did not damage her vocal chords. We we’re all notified by her doctor that the operation might affect her voice but good thing it didn’t since she’s studying to be a lawyer. I remembered my mom telling me that she’s planning to get a health insurance for my sister but she just can’t right now because of other expenses and debts. I volunteered to help her out with the payment just so we can give my sister a health card. I’ve been reviewing other health insurance leads but so far I’m still searching for the best and the one that can give the best value for our money. While researching, I stumbled upon this site and found out that they provide leads to agents. So agents will be informed with people like me, who is interested in getting a health insurance. They are known to be the largest provider of leads in the U.S. I think it’s a systematic way and approach in dealing with insurance. Maybe the Philippines can also adapt the same system in the future.
One afternoon a couple of my officemates and I had our PM snacks at the nearby McDonald’s. I love having discussions about the future with my officemates. I actually love just hearing their thoughts about the future, where they’d want to be a year or 5 years from now etc. Our conversation came to the point about our “future” partners. We all agreed that what we want for our partner is someone who is responsible about the future and not someone who just goes with the flow or a happy go lucky guy. We want someone who would always think about the future. We want someone who would prepare for the future.
I’d like to think that I am someone who is concerned about the future. I was probably influenced by my mother. She for sure always thinks about the future, she always prepares for the future. So I opened up a time deposit account and also purchased a life insurance last year, I’m actually contemplating if I should also get a health insurance. Since I’m interested to get a health insurance, I did some research and found a site about health insurance leads. This site is both helpful for consumers like me as well as to insurance agents. It serves as a mediator between the two (consumer and agents) since this site will be able to give out “leads” to insurance agents on consumers that is interested to get an insurance. The site is not limited to health insurance alone, but they also cater to life insurance as well.
I might get a health insurance someday, probably when my salary increases or doubles. But for now I’ll just settle with my time deposit, savings account and life insurance.
I’m thinking of ways on how I could earn extra income that would not require a lot of time from me. I’ve been reading forum threads about ways of earning online and have discovered the following:
ODesk – From what I have read from their site and from message boards, its a site with lots of opportunities for freelancers or home based jobs. In your profile you can specify the number of hours you’re willing to work. Since I wanted to try it out, I created an account and specified that I’m willing to work 20 hours a week and that my asking price/salary is 5USD per hour. *LOL* I don’t know if the rate is too high or low, I still need to do more research about this service. I just hope I get to earn even a little from this.
Google Adsense – I have already signed up for this service a long time ago. I placed the ads on my other blog, but since I joined I still have not earned a single cent.
I may be doing something wrong. I still need to read more as to how I can earn with Google Adsense.
Get-Paid-To-Blog Sites – I have earned from blogtoprofit and blogsvertise already. But I wish to earn regularly from them. I have also signed up for sponsoredreviews, I’ve also bidded to some opportunities but until now I haven’t received any reply from the advertisers.
With all that I have learned so far, I’m thinking of reviving this blog again. I know I haven’t been regular in my blog posts; I haven’t been regular in blog hopping either. I’d like to place Google Adsense on this blog as well; I’m just not sure if I’m allowed to do this with where my blog is hosted now. Thankfully Fena, has offered to host my domain and I plan to take care of everything before the month ends. Then from there, hopefully I get to blog regularly and increase my site’s traffic to be able to get more opportunities and increase my site’s rank. *CROSSES FINGERS*
I just received a payment for a sponsored blog post I did here. Its not much but still, pera pa rin yun!
I was paid 5USD for that blog post alone. Magkano na ba yung 5USD sa Php? Malayo na rin mararating nun. Kaya naman iniisip ko na rin na seryosohin na uli ang pagblog sayang din kasi yung extra money. Let’s say (hopefully tama ang computation ko, mahina ako sa Math e) for one link code, I get 5USD and I get one link code for each day of the week so that’s 35USD already. A month has 4 weeks, so in one month I may earn 140USD! In two months time I may be able to buy a 160GB Ipod Classic *lol* At least diba dito sa extra money I can use it to buy my WANTS. Ang hirap kasi gumastos or bumili ng WANTS kung sweldo lang yung gagamitin ko ang hirap hirap kitain nun e
Saka syempre I have my NEEDS din so mauuna lagi yung NEEDS bago WANTS when it comes to spending my hard earned money (salary). I’m off to join monetizing sites, sana I receive opportunities soon!
You’re all probably wondering why the title for this blog is Green Talk. According to wikipedia, In America, green is a slang term for money, among other things. And since I already used Money Talk as a title before, I decided to use Green Talk instead. Just thought I’d share the story behind the title
