Eyeglasses, anyone?

From our family I am the only one who doesn’t have to wear any glasses. I often wonder why because I’m the one who is so addicted with the computer. I remember when I was still a child and we had a family computer. The first thing I do in the morning is to play Mario Brothers on our family computer. When we had our very own PC and internet connection, I would stay up late chatting with friends and still manage to wake up early to continue using the computer. Now that I’m working, I’m in front of the computer for 8+ hours. My office mates keep on reminding me that I shouldn’t wash my face because my eyes are tired from being in front of the computer but that doesn’t stop me. I still wash my face every after lunch so that I’d feel fresh again :P

Last January, we had our APE and my eyes were examined. And according to the doctor, although I have a 20/20 vision I have mild astigmatism. She recommended that I wear eyeglasses especially because of the demands of my job. I researched further on my condition and found out that astigmatism is a common condition and is usually present from birth. I then started searching for different kinds and styles of eyeglasses when I stumbled upon Eric’s Review of Zenni Optical. Zenni Optical has the lowest price progressive glasses which makes them the #1 online Rx glasses store in Brooklyn. The lowest prescription glasses that you can get from them costs 8USD that’s more or less 400PHP! They have so many kinds of glasses as well, so you’ll have tons and tons of eyeglasses to choose from! Here are just some of the glasses that I liked: Read more »

What's on your mind?

I couldn’t think of a better subject for this. Just thought I’d update with random stuff. :)

I changed my mind and renewed orangebin. Its just hard to let go of the name, I’ve had this for almost 4 years (I think) and still haven’t grew tired of it. I still bought a new domain name though and will share the URL once I’m done setting it up.

I’ve been eating a lot lately and I blame PMS. *LOL* Anything for an excuse for pigging out. But tomorrow I told my dad that I’ll come with him on his morning walk. I need to have time for physical activities no matter what. That would be my goal for the coming weeks and maybe months.

Tomorrow, I’d also go to My Health Center for my Urinalysis. It’s way overdue and the office nurse did a follow up on me already. I was supposed to go today but was too lazy, once I saw the Sucat exit I decided to do it tomorrow. :P The office doctor told me that the salt level in my body (urine) was too high and also there’s something (can’t remember the term) that’s too high as well and it might be a cause of bacterial infection so she prescribed some expensive antibiotics that I had to take for 2 weeks. And after the 2 weeks, I’m supposed to get my repeat urinalysis but wasn’t able to because I had my period. It’s been 2 weeks after my period and I still haven’t gone for the urinalysis. Haha! I must do it tomorrow, hopefully I’d be in a better mood :)

Gadgets

My boyfriend is now a proud owner of a brand new Compaq CQ40-416AU. I accompanied him awhile ago at SM Marikina to buy his new toy. He wanted the Dell Inspiron 1410, but unfortunately the only available stock was the one on display. So I told him to just get the CQ40 instead, so that we have the same laptops. While at SM Marikina, I also bought a cotton mini skirt for only 59Php!! The tag price says, 119Php but when the barcode was scanned the price changed to 59Php. The cashier had to double check the price because she couldn’t believe it as well. Haha! After buying the laptop, we went to BK to have our lunch. While having lunch, we noticed that most of the customers at BK were using their netbooks. We kinda envied them because netbooks are so portable and easy to bring wherever, unlike our notebooks. But then again, netbooks have small screens and I worry that it might strain my eyes.

While we’re on the topic of gadgets, did you ever buy a gadget and pay for it using your credit card and on installment? I did. I bought my Creative Zen and used my credit card and paid for it over 12 months. While my laptop I bought using my credit card and paid (still paying) for it over 6 months. I haven’t tried buying a cellphone though and paying it in installment. I’m just too scared because I might lose it or somebody might steal it and I still am not finished paying it. I don’t think there’s exclusive insurance leads for gadgets. I still haven’t heard of any insurance for any kind of gadget. Maybe it’s time to have such insurance, don’t you think?

Fitness and Health

I’m pretty sure that every new year, losing weight is in our New Year’s resolution list. Every year I always say to myself that I should lose X amount of weight but its only this year that I realized that I shouldn’t think that way. I should be thinking of ways on how to stay fit and healthy. What’s the difference? Well, for me when I say I should lose weight that only makes me to restrict my food intake. I should eat a lot to lose weight. But if I want to be fit and healthy then I should also do some exercise and chose what I should eat. So this year, that’s what I vowed to do. To stay fit and healthy but so far I haven’t progressed much :P I’m sure its not too late for me to start… I aim to have a 100% change by the end of the year. I still have 9 months to reach my goal.

Did you know that even if you’re young most health insurance leads may still give you a higher monthly premium than usual? I didn’t know that. I just learned about it yesterday, when my mom, sis and I were talking about insurance during dinner. My sister said that she would have a hard time getting a health insurance because she just had a major operation and she also isn’t healthy for her age. I actually couldn’t remember how the topic started but I remembered my mom wanted to get an accident insurance for her cousin and my sister applied all that she has learned about insurance law to my mother. She was lecturing my mom that my mom didn’t have any insurance liability (I cannot remember the exact term she used) to her cousin and so she is not allowed to purchase an insurance for her cousin. And even if she is allowed to do that, she still can’t be her cousin’s dependent because a dependent must follow a hierarchy. So that ended our discussion about insurance.

Its fun to have a “lawyer” in the family, you could always run to them and ask for legal advice for free :D

Moving…

I’d be moving to a different home (online) soon :) I just registered for a new domain and hopefully I get to set up everything before the month ends. Will update you guys once my other site is up and running. :D
