I am a procrastinator. I still haven’t changed my nameservers. I tried to change them the other day, but was not able to successfully transfer my files to the new server. I tried to follow the tutorials found online on how to backup my database and how to import it back to the new server but for some reason I don’t have rights to create a database in the new server. So I just decided to use the old one again. My plan now is just to export my posts and pages and just import it to a new WordPress installation. Good thing I can install WordPress by just using Fantastico that means I don’t have to install WordPress manually. I don’t have a good track record of successfully installing WordPress manually. Even if I’ve been using WordPress for a long time, I still consider myself a newbie with the tool. So far, I have only created 3 WP themes ever since I started using WP. The rest would be modification of themes like the one I did here: FCB Fanclub Manila. It was a favor from my Dad’s friend and I got paid by doing that.

In other news, I won PinoyTwitter’s raffle contest! I was surprised to have won because I joined at the very last minute, as in the day of the deadline. And I get to choose my prize! From the prizes left, I chose to be hosted under Kath. It’s either I get a new domain and have my new domain hosted under her, or just get a subdomain from her. I’m still thinking of a domain name, do you have any suggestions?

There are only 2 contestants for the contest I’m holding, so for sure they’ll be the winner

UPDATE: I finally was able to move servers! Yay! Let’s celebrate!
I still haven’t moved servers. But I did upgrade to WP 2.8.6.
I thought I would be able to move servers last Friday night but I forgot that I had to do my homework for my German language class on Saturday. I scheduled the move to be done on Saturday evening but then again it didn’t push through because I was too sleepy. And so I said I’ll do it today, but the family went to Church in the morning and had lunch after then decided to watch 2012 after having our lunch.
The movie was long, it was more than 2 hours, I think. Word of advice: If you decide to watch the movie, make sure to pee before because its quite long and you might end up just like me. I had to wait for the movie to end before I was able to pee because the cinema was packed and I didn’t want to miss any part of the movie. It felt good though once I was able to pee. *LOL* I liked the movie, the family liked it. I cried in a couple of scenes… the movie was a suspense/comedy/family/drama/action movie.
I hope to squeeze in the transfer tonight
My host just switched to a new host and she sent me the necessary nameservers that I should update. I thought that’s all I need to do… Turns out I also need to move my files to the new server. So if you find that my site has gone offline, that’s probably because of the switch to a new server.
I’ll probably do the moving of files tomorrow or on Saturday evening. But for the meantime I have already exported a backup of my MySql database (all my posts and comments are now safe) except for this post haha! Since I’m already done exporting and downloaded the backup already *LOL*
So far I have two contestants for the contest. Yay! Thanks for the support Fatima and Beth
*hugs*
No one seems to be interested in joining my contest. *cries*
If no one will join by the end of the week, I might have to cancel the contest or maybe extend the contest period.
I never thought I’d say this but… I miss being busy. I miss not realizing that it’s lunch time or that the day is already over because of how busy I am. You try to finish all your tasks for the day but still think a day is not enough to finish all of them. You get so irritated when another task comes along which needs to be prioritized like submitting your timesheet or else you’d get bombarded with email and IM reminders. Then before the day ends you still need to submit a status report which would mean you need to alot time to document the status of what you are doing. Oh, how hectic one can be. But now? All of that has changed. I sit here waiting… 11:30AM and I start to get “Lunchtime!” IMs, then the clock strikes 4:45PM, I start fixing my things, go to the CR and prepare for an hour or so journey way back home. 5:00PM comes and I’m out of here! That’s my typical day at the office. I feel so useless, I’m seriously thinking of searching for other options come December. If I can’t find any opportunities here, then I think I have given enough time already. I’ve stayed long enough and I’ve been patient enough. It’s time to move on. Unless something concrete comes along the way, then I’m staying. I’m actually shortlisted for a project, but the project is still on its bidding stage. So as of the moment, I’m still waiting whether our company won the bid or not. I really hope we get to know whether we won or not soon, like before December starts. But until I feel safe and useful here, I’m keeping my doors open for other opportunities.
Sorry but I can’t think of any title
Ever since my boyfriend didn’t renew his contract with his previous employer for four years, I’ve been helping him out in finding a new job. Its almost everyday that I check on any employment sites like Jobstreet, Monster and JobsDB. Since my boyfriend graduated as a Computer Science student, we’re both looking for it jobs. Before he would just focus on anything related to security/anti-virus since that’s where he has the most experience but jobs like those are too hard to find or has a lot of skills required. So now we are looking for anything that has something to do with technical support. I’m just happy that I discovered this new employment site, EmploymentCrossing. At least now we’ll have more opportunities to look for, there’s even a chance to work for companies in America. What I like about this site is that its an job openings aggregator, its like a one-stop shop of all job opportunities worldwide. It even has work from home job opportunities which is a great thing since I’ve also been searching for other methods of earning extra income. Since I have nothing much to do at work, I’d like to try out any extra task I can squeeze in on my not so busy schedule *LOL*
I’m hoping that this new discovery will help us out in finding for that perfect computer job for my boyfriend. The same goes with me, I’m hoping to find a work at home opportunity, even if its as a part-time job.

I already finalized my first ever contest
Watch out for the launching on the 8th of November 2009. I just wish that the contest will be a success. Just a brief overview, the contest will be based on a point system. So it will also mean a lot of work for me, in case a lot would participate since I’ll be doing everything manually.
I’m crossing my fingers that a lot would join and that my first ever contest will be a success
Being an Information Management graduate, programmer working for an IT/BPO company and being in a relationship with an Anti-Virus/Security Administrator I know how important passwords are. But it was only during our company induction that I knew of any security breaches/hacking done by Filipinos. It was also only when I joined this company that I started practicing the safe way of using/creating passwords and I’m applying at home what I’m practicing at work.
Here are just some of the guidelines that I follow when creating my password:
- A minimum of 8 digits
- Usage of alphanumeric and special characters.
- A combination of upper and lowercase letters.
- I check the strength of my password using The Password Meter
It is also not advisable to have/use one password for all your online accounts. Since I have so many online accounts, it’s too hard to memorize my passwords. I write down my passwords but I keep them in a secure place, meaning they are not saved on my mobile phone or any document on my computer.
You know what they say… It’s better to be safe than sorry
I’m building my link list. I just added three new links, they are: Gyk, Roxy & Scart. If you want to be added in my link list, just comment on any of my blog entries and I’ll add you as soon as I can
I hope you could also add me to your links as well.
As for the contest, I have not progressed yet. I’m having a hard time finding out on how I could start it. Hopefully by the week ends, I’ll be able to come up with the mechanics etc.
