Boring

January 6th, 2009 by Lei

So how was everyone’s first day at work or at school? Mine was pretty boring. Well, I started the day by going to the gym and then by 9am I was at the office already. My counterpart from India starts to go online at around 11am. Since there’s a 2 hour time difference between Philippines and India. So while waiting for her I started to back up my files and also researched on the problem she reported to me since last week. After lunch, that’s when my counterpart and I started to have a meeting. I’ll spare you the details because that’s too technical. But at the end of the day we still couldn’t figure out what’s wrong. So continuation will be today… After publishing this hopefully she’s online and we could start comparing and solving the problem.

Hello from SG

Ever since the 23rd SEA Games, I always wanted to go and visit Singapore. But now that I am here I want to go home already. :( I arrived last Thursday via Singapore Airline’s SQ917 at around 5:30pm. Upon stepping out of the plane I didn’t know where exactly to go. This is my first time to travel alone and my first time here in Singapore. I was excited at first because finally I get to feel a bit of independence somehow. I have always wanted to be independent since I graduated from high school, yes high school. I wanted to study at a university in Manila so I could live in a dorm. But my parents didn’t agree with it and I studied at the same school I graduated high school from. After college graduation, there was some point in my life that I wanted to move out of the house already but since I am not earning that much yet then that would not be a good idea after all. The only independence I got is the financial side, since I don’t need to ask for money from my parents and I can buy anything that I want :)

Anyways, back to the story… I finally arrived at the hotel at around 6:30pm. The hotel is far from the city which sucks really. Because I’m stuck here :( I cannot go out even if I wanted to because this place is not known by some taxi drivers. I have been looking at a couple of maps already and even in the maps I have seen this place where I am located is not shown in the map :( So I am really having a hard time to go out and tour this country. Yesterday, I went to Turf City Mall. It’s quite near this place so I just walked going there. The place is an old horse racing course before but now they turned it to a small city kinda like Westgate/Ayala Alabang/Gateway. I just went around; I needed slippers since I wasn’t able to bring slippers with me. I looked around for slippers, until I finally found one. And then I went to the grocery to buy some stuff I still needed. After that I felt hungry and so I decided to go back in front of the mall where all the food stalls are located. A lot of people were eating so I just decided to buy take out since I couldn’t find any table where I could eat. I was back at my room and then had my lunch at around 2:30 in the afternoon. I had a very late dinner and my stomach was upset at around 2am in the morning today.

It started to rain hard as well early this morning. The weather is a bit gloomy up until now. I might go back to the mall later :) I saw one bag that I wanted to buy yesterday but I could not decide if I should buy it or not. Well now I have decided to buy it, I just hope its still there later :)

Happy Halloween!

For the first time ever I was able to experience the Halloween feel. I really can’t remember if during my childhood days that I gone out and did some trick or treating. What I remember is usually Easter Egg hunting in our garden before when I was still a kid :) Anyways, yesterday at the office we had our Halloween *party* Employees can bring their children along, we had free caricature and face painting services as well. I had my caricature done, I never really liked getting paint on my face or any part of my body ;) Besides the paint would fade away or washed out easily but the caricature would last longer. I went to work early yesterday so I could decorate one of the rooms that’s going to be the venue for the party… Since I was just working alone, I just cut out bats from black cartolina. Originally, I wanted spiders but spiders are very hard to make so I settled with bats *lol* Lunch time came, my officemates and I went to Shopwise to buy some treats for the kids. I bought some cheap chocolate candies and jellyace :) I missed jellyace! But that’s for the kids anyways, so I bought myself one Choco Mucho chocolate bar :P At around 3pm the program started and the kids started to visit us… One cubicle at a time… It was fun seeing them dressed up as draculas, zombies, devils, fairies and one even dressed up like Barney! It was really fun and I enjoyed seeing the kids. I always loved being around children, I just don’t know if I’d be a good mother to my kids someday *lol* Until the next Halloween event!

Tomorrow morning we will collect our mother from the airport. We dropped her off at the airport yesterday early morning as well… She had to go to Bicol (her province) for some matters. We woke up at 4am so that she could be at the airport by 5am. Tomorrow at least she’ll arrive a little late… around 8am so we don’t need to wake up that early :)

My bf and I won’t be seeing each other tomorrow as well. Since we really have nothing to do… Mall’s would be closed (half-day maybe?) We really don’t want to stay at home when everyone is also at home because we don’t have enough space here at home *lol* We might see each other next week after office though… But that still depends if my flight to SG pushes thru on Thursday. I hope it pushes thru this time :) I’d be gone for almost 3 weeks… I’ll leave on the 6th and be back on the 27th. That’s 3 Saturdays that we won’t be spending together :( Oh well… Absence makes the heart go fonder :)
